REGINA — Construction around A.E. Wilson Park has reduced lanes along McCarthy Boulevard and closed roads around the area.

These road closures include  Kent Street from the 8th Avenue intersection to the park entrance until Aug.

According to the City of Regina, this is part of a multi-year project to reduce sewer backups, supporting the growth of Regina’s population by expanding its wastewater network.

To avoid any further disruptions regarding traffic, the city will coordinate underground and surface upgrades along Kent Street.

The majority of the multi-work project is set to be completed in 2025, with surface restoration work and landscaping being completed in 2026.

This work includes the installation of new pipes, which will replace water mains, replacing storm drains, and relocating SaskPower infrastructure, while upgrading the streetscape with new pavement, curbs, and gutters.

Construction is currently under Phase 2, as Phase 1 was completed in July.

The city is encouraging residents to visit their website for the latest information on the project.
