REGINA — The Cornwall Centre went under lockdown on Wednesday.
According to the Regina Police Service (RPS), officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 1:45 p.m. for a report of a weapons offence.
Police said initial information indicated an individual was carrying what appeared to be a firearm.
Shortly after, the building was placed under lockdown while the investigation occurred, but it’s unclear how long the lockdown lasted.
After their investigation, the threat was deemed unfounded, and no firearm was located in the area.
The Cornwall Centre re-opened following the investigation with no further safety concerns for the public.
SaskToday reached out to the Cornwall Centre for further details, but we’re told no comments would be made as it was an RPS matter.
