Regina Police Drug Unit seize $200K in drugs, arrest Alberta man

REGINA – An Alberta man has been arrested by Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) following a drug  investigation that resulted in the seizure of drugs valued at approximately $200,000.

Cody Syvret, 26, of Fort McMurray, Alta., is charged with three counts of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl), and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

On Aug. 5, members of the RDU, with the assistance from the RPS Tactical Support Team and Canine Unit, executed two CDSA search warrants – one at a storage locker and another at a residence in the 4600 block of Mutrie Crescent.

The searches yielded approximately 7.7 kg of methamphetamine, 2.8 kilograms of fentanyl, 1.3 kg of cocaine, and approximately $62,000 in cash.

Syvret  made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 6.
