REGINA — The Regina Police Service (RPS) is giving residents a chance to interact with law enforcement and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Coffee With a Cop has been ongoing for several years, taking place at McDonald’s restaurants across Regina.
“Our basic goal is to meet the public, and break down the barriers of people who have fears of the police and just for them to ask us questions,” said RPS Cst. Frank Kovacs.
Kovacs said it can be challenging for some to open up to an officer, so these events are a great way to explain situations and help people better understand the RPS.
“We got a lot of questions about what our job entails. It really helps the public get more insight.”
Kovacs also mentioned encouraging the general public to take on the role of an officer or to understand how to help the community.
Coffee With a Cop happens numerous times a year. More information on the event can be found here.
