RPS will conduct joint training exercise at Cornwall Centre

Officers will be on-site for 5 p.m. with training beginning at 6 p.m.

REGINA — The Regina Police Service (RPS) is conducting a joint training exercise at the  Cornwall Centre on Wednesday.

According to a news release, the RPS’ SWAT Team, Downtown Safety Team, which includes the Alternative Response Officers (AROs), will work with the Cornwall Centre Security on the exercise.

Officers will be on-site for 5 p.m., with training beginning at 6 p.m.

The RPS said people in the area can expect to see multiple vehicles parked outside Cornwall Centre most of the evening.

“Consistent, collaborative training with our community partners and stakeholders is important to ensure everyone is prepared and knows what their role is in the case of a real emergency,” said the RPS.
