SIRT investigating after Regina police officer fatally shoots person

The incident took place at approximately 10:10 a.m., in the 1300 Block of Garnet Street.

REGINA – The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) has been called in to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred this morning in Regina.

During the course of an investigation, a Regina Police Service officer discharged their firearm fatally wounding an individual. The incident took place at approximately 10:10 a.m., in the 1300 Block of Garnet Street.

“We understand that this incident is of significant public interest and ask for patience as the facts are gathered,” said Regina Police Service in a media release. “Because this is an active SIRT investigation, no further information will be provided by the Regina Police Service. Additional information will be provided by SIRT as it becomes available.”
