A 20-year-old man is facing four counts of assault and two weapons-related offences.

On June 8, just before 5 p.m., police were called to another store in the 300 block of Confederation Drive, where two women reportedly used bear spray against security officers while being taken into custody for shoplifting. Both suspects were found in possession of bear spray, and one also had a knife. Stolen clothing was seized and returned to a nearby sporting goods store.

Two women, aged 26 and 29, are charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of conditions.

Later that same evening, around 8 p.m., officers responded to a theft at a store in the 500 block of Wellman Crescent.
