A winter storm created treacherous travel conditions in the southeast.

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - Highways in the Estevan area are open again on Monday.

According to the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline, the highways were closed Sunday night after 8:30 p.m. due to adverse travel conditions associated with the winter storm that blew through the area.

But the Highway Hotline shows the routes were open again on Monday before 6 a.m. Winter conditions still exist on the affected routes. These highways still have swirling snow, snow drifts, drifting snow, and icy or slippery sections. Visibility is described as good.

Highway 1 and a number of highways in close proximity to it are also open again.

Travel is not recommended on some routes in the southeast, and other highways in the region report that winter conditions exist. Some of them have reduced visibility.

For updated highway conditions check out the Highway Hotline.

The winter storm warning that was in effect for southern Saskatchewan has been lifted, and there are no weather advisories in place for south Saskatchewan.
