ASSINIBOIA - Assiniboia and District Arts Council recently announced that the works of Gravelbourg artist, Teresa Williams, will be on display at the Assiniboia and District Public Library throughout the month of January.

“Each month the Arts Council showcases a talented local artist” says Arts Council president Alison Lewis. “Teresa Williams is our first featured artist for 2024”

Williams views this event as both an honour and a privilege. “I was thrilled when the Arts Council approached me. It’s such an honour to be recognized for my work” she explained.

Williams has a variety of works on display in several mediums including graphite, ink, fabric, watercolor and oil. She often studies her subjects in several mediums before settling on the one that best reflects the subject and message she wants to convey.

Besides being a talented artist, Teresa Williams is also well known for her commitment to Gravelbourg’s town council, and as a successful business leader as co-owner of Creations Gallery.

Her work is open for public viewing in the Kay Cristo Room during regular library hours. Residents can meet the artist in person on January 22, 12 noon to 3 p.m., during her public reception.

“We encourage everyone to stop by and enjoy a few minutes of creative contemplation” says Lewis. “There is always something beautiful to discover and to nourish your inner artist.”
