There are many things that the Assiniboia and District Arts Council will be planning for the upcoming year.

First on their calendar will be Culture Days, which will be celebrated with the Canada’s Balley Jorgen - Dance for All presented at the Prince of Wales Centre on Thursday, September 29 and 7:30 p.m.

In October the Arts Council will host a bluesy-jazz singing/music group.

The Mistletoe Art and Craft Sale will be hosted in November. Later in the season, a Juno award winning country band will be performing in Assiniboia in March, 2023.

Their 2022-2023 season ends in April with a dramatic presentation that combines theatre, video and storytelling of a true story. Season tickets are on sale now. Individual tickets can be bought in advance.

Tickets are available at the Shurniak Art Gallery, from Arts Council members, at the Prince of Wales Office and the Palliser Regional Library.

The Assiniboia and District Arts Council ended the summer with a successful Artist Retreat at the Shurniak Art Gallery.

The Artist Retreat included 21 artists from the prairie provinces who enjoyed their time to create their unique art.  The visiting artists were absolutely thrilled with the wonderful facilities that are available in the community.

A collaboration between artists and community members resulted in a beautiful painting. The Arts Council are currently selling raffle tickets for this painting to help pay for future programming. It is currently on display at the Shurniak Art Gallery.
