Calling all artists to James Weir annual exhibition

Artists and craftspeople from Weyburn and the southeast Saskatchewan region will once again have an opportunity to display their work in the annual James Weir People's Choice Exhibition.

Artists and craftspeople from Weyburn and the southeast Saskatchewan region will once again have an opportunity to display their work in the annual James Weir People's Choice Exhibition. The 28th annual art exhibition will be held in January 2011, sponsored by Weyburn Arts Council and South East Connections, a Sask Lotteries participant.

This exhibition will run from January 5 to 31, 2011 and will give artists and craftspeople the opportunity to display their original artwork at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery in Weyburn.

Gallery visitors throughout the month will cast their vote for their favourite piece. A special reception will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 to meet the artists, honour the participants and to acknowledge the artists who received the top number of votes.

Entries will be accepted by artists and craftspeople throughout the Wheatland Souris Region which includes the following communities: Weyburn, Stoughton, Radville, Lang, Milestone, Fillmore, Wilcox, Riceton, Cedoux, Corning, Pangman, Trossachs, Griffin, Ceylon, Goodwater, Minton, Lake Alma, Oungre, Yellow Grass, Colgate, Creelman, Forget, Gladmar, Hardy, Heward, Khedive, Hansworth, Kronau, Lajord, Parry, Osage, McTaggart, Ratcliffe, Talmage, Tyvan, Tribune, Beaubier, Bromhead, Bechard, Colfax, Davin, Dummer, Estlin, Froude, Gray, Lewvan, Maxi, Halbrite, Midale, Macoun, Ogema, Benson and Torquay.
