Carol Festival is back live to help start Christmas season in Weyburn

The Carol Festival will be held at Grace United Church on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.

WEYBURN – The Weyburn Quota Club is very excited to hold the 2021 Carol Festival live from Grace United Church, on Sunday evening, Dec. 5 starting at 7 p.m.

“We are overwhelmed by all the entries and know this line-up of performers will be well received by all,” said June Fletcher of the Weyburn Quota Club.

The evening will kick off with community singing of two carols, “Joy to the World” and “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”, then the program of local talent will begin with Sharon Elliott, and the reading of the Christmas story by Jean Fahlman.

The groups which will be performing include Small Voices of Grace, Spirit of Grace, the Rise choir and senior choir from Weyburn Comprehensive School, the Grace United Chancel Choir, the Weyburn Rotary Club, Zion Lutheran worship team, and the Variations community choir.

The members of the Weyburn Quota Club will conclude the evening with the singing of “Silent Night”.

“The Quota Carol Festival has traditionally been the start of the Christmas Season for over 50 years, and we appreciate the generosity of our community with the silver collection at the door being used to fund the many organizations, scholarships, non-profits and local projects,” said Fletcher.

It will be recorded by Cory Morrissette of AccessNow, so it may be viewed on the community channel throughout the Christmas season. The performance can also be viewed on-line.
