The Saskatchewan Country Music Awards (SCMA) were handed out in Swift Current on April 2 and 3 where singer Codie Prevost and his team accepted 10 SCMA awards during the 22nd annual awards weekend.

On Saturday at the SCMA Industry Awards banquet, individual awards went to Codie Prevost band members Allison Tymiak for Fiddle Player of the Year and Hal Schrenk for Drummer of the Year. Provost's manager, Al Leblanc, was acknowledged as Manager of the Year.

The host for Sunday nights award was CCMA "Rising Star" One More Girl, and Prevost accepted six SCMA awards including Fans Choice Entertainer of the Year; Male Vocalist of the Year; Single of the Year for Rolling Back To You, Song of the Year (Composer) Codie Prevost/Adam Wheeler for I'm Okay; Video of the Year for Standing Still; and Album of the Year for Get Loud. His band was awarded the Back Up Band of the Year award on Sunday evening as well.

Prevost is now a three-time SCMA Entertainer of the Year award winner and feels this award has to be shared with his touring band and sound crew.

"Without the band backing me up every night and the road crew setting up and doing sound I wouldn't be able to do what I get to do. So I owe a lot to them for all their hard work and dedication," said Provost.

Known for being one of the hardest working musicians in the country, Provost is ready to take his SCMA accolades to help him reach that next level in his career.

"It's great to have that support from my home province," said Provost. "It gives me the confidence to try and take my career to the next level which would be getting nominated for a Canadian Country Music Award."
