The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club held its annual Christmas party on December 15 at the Wheatland Senior Centre. Following a turkey dinner, the Club Championship was held.
Nine tables played bridge and the overall Club Champions were Keith Eichel and Barry Mactaggart, who were sitting North/South. Also sitting North/South, Erskine and Mildred Sandiford placed second, Gord Bell and Jerry Thiessen were third and Jim and Hazel Benison were fourth. Sitting East/West, Andy Goeres and George Gilles placed first and they were the second overall Club Champions. Sitting East/West Lydia Milleker and Vivian Truscott placed second, Gord Freeden and Jo Wollner finished third and Bernie Collins and Al Fellner were fourth.
Four and a half tables played on December 13. Erskine and Mildred Sandiford finished first edging out Bernie and Don Dufour who placed second, Andy Goeres and George Gilles were third and Barry Mactaggart and Marg Stewart were fourth.
On December 8, four tables played and Jim Brown and George Gilles finished first, Marg Stewart and Gord Bell were second, and Barb Fellner and Chuck Widdis were third.
Five and a half tables played on December 6 when Andy Goeres and George Gilles had a strong night finishing in first place, Lucie Nickel and Lydia Milleker placed second, Jim Brown and Jean Knibbs were third and Marg Marinos and Audrey Warawa were fourth.
December 1 had four and a half tables that played and Jerry Thiessen and Gord Bell finished first, Barry Mactaggart and Quint Patrick were second, Jim Brown and George Gilles followed closely for third edging out Marion Brown and Jean Knibbs who were fourth.
On November 29, four tables played and Gord Bell and Jerry Thiessen took top honours, Diane Bell and Jim Brown were second, Andy Goeres and George Gilles were third.
