There are only a few spots left available for the Summer Art Program to be offered by the City of Weyburn. The Summer Art Program will be held in the Sun Room at the Weyburn Leisure Centre for ages six to 12 years, from July 12 to August 17.

The art portion takes place in the morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Fun in the Sun portion takes place in the afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m.

Both programs cost $50 per week, and online registration is available at the City of Weyburn website at www.weyburn.ca.

Summer students were hired by the City of Weyburn as the program leaders and will be responsible for both programs.

During the Summer Art Program, children will be creatively challenged and a variety of art mediums will be explored. Children will grow artistically and socially, develop respect for others, and a positive self-confidence will be developed. Education themes will be used, with fun and safety as the major components.

The Fun in the Sun Day Camp provides opportunities for children, ages six to 12, to enjoy a rich variety of stimulating activities that are challenging and fun. The program offers a blend of sport and recreation activities, which are creative, playful and imaginative.

Each week of Fun in the Sun offers something new and different, where children can learn cooperation and respect for others, develop positive relationships, and value physical fitness, creative activity and healthy living.
