Oil and Gas Show opens, premier to be speaker

The 14th biennial Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show opens today, June 1, at the Weyburn exhibition grounds, with hundreds of exhibits and displays both indoors and outdoors, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.


The 14th biennial Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show opens today, June 1, at the Weyburn exhibition grounds, with hundreds of exhibits and displays both indoors and outdoors, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

At the awards luncheon today, Premier Brad Wall is the guest speaker, then the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Recognition Awards will be presented, including the Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year, and inductees to the Oil Industry Hall of Fame.

There will be a launch of a new program by the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) in the afternoon, and the evening pit roast dinner will include the official opening ceremonies with Energy and Resources minister Bill Boyd. In addition the Southeast Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year award will be presented.

The oil show will be open again on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and opens with the PSAC barnstorming breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m.

The noon luncheon will feature the president and CEO of Crescent Point Energy, Scott Saxberg.
