ESTEVAN - More than 50 talented performers from both sides of the border were part of the Southeast and Northwest Choruses 50th Celebration of Christmas music on the weekend.

The first performance was held Dec. 3 at St. Paul’s United Church in Estevan, and the second will be Dec. 4 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, N.D., starting at 4 p.m.

This year’s theme is Where the Light Begins.

Eleven songs are in this year’s program, with many of them being favourites of the choruses from previous years. There are some familiar Christmas carols, such as The Little Drummer Boy and a gospel version of Away in a Manger, but there are also some less-known carols, ranging from the opening song, The Christmas Gift, to the finale, One Wish.

Harlan Johnson and Shauna Meek are the co-directors. Danielle Evenson and Wendell Nelson are the accompanists.
