WCS bands and choirs practice for music festival

Audiences are allowed to attend the music festival performances, which will be held at the Cugnet Centre

WEYBURN - Band and choir students at the Weyburn Comprehensive School were busy practicing for their upcoming adjudicated performances for the 2022 Weyburn Rotary Music Festival.

Audiences are allowed to attend the music festival performances, which will be held at the Cugnet Centre next week. Residents are reminded that these are adjudicated performances, and to be respectful of the performers and the judges.

The Weyburn Comp choirs, which include the RISE choir, the senior choir and junior choir, will be adjudicated on Monday, March 14 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The following schedule on Wednesday, March 16, is for band students:

  • 9:30 a.m. -- Grade 7A and Grade 7D
  • 10:45 a.m. -- Grade 7B, Grade 7C and 7E
  • 2:45 p.m. -- Grade 8 Band
  • 3:15 p.m. -- WCS Jazz Band (Grades 9 to 12)

The following schedule on Thursday, March 17, is for band students:

  • 9 a.m. -- Grade 9 Band
  • 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. -- WCS Senior Band (Grade 10 to 12)

In other WCS news, the Junior Musical and Senior Musical performances were released on the Weyburn Comprehensive YouTube channel. The WCS Junior Musical Group performed Beauty and the Beast Jr. The WCS Senior Musical group performed Shrek Jr.
