WEYBURN - The Weyburn Arts Council is holding a public information meeting about the Culture Days event to be held this fall.

Culture Days is held from Sept. 22 to Oct. 15 all across Canada. Join thousands of creators and event organizers for a celebration of arts, culture and creative expression.

Since Culture Days launched in 2010, thousands have tried out new creative and cultural activities such as tipi-raisings, needle felting, print-making, pysanky, mandolin lessons and so much more.

The arts council is looking for community-minded individuals who would be interested in helping make this year the best Culture Days yet. The meeting is set for Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. at the Credit Union Spark Centre, where people can learn how to become involved.

“It’s an information night where people can find out more about the event. I will share examples of past Culture Days events, and avenues of involvement,” said Regan Lanning, curator for the Arts Council.

“Culture days is very much a community-shaped event. My role is to facilitate the involvement of community groups and members in whatever way they are interested in and comfortable with,” she added. For more information about Culture Days or the meeting, email Lanning at rlanning@weyburn.ca.
