Weyburn children make a vase for Mother's Day

Participants were led step-by-step through the process of making the vase

WEYBURN – The pottery studio at Weyburn’s Credit Union Spark Centre held a pottery class on Saturday afternoon, a twist on their Make a Mug class.

Children aged 6 to 13 built a one-of-a-kind vase for Mom, using a variety of texture tools and glazes.

Instructor Asmara Riaz went through the process step-by-step to create the vase, showing each child how to do each part.

They were able to add touches like flowers or hearts on the sides, and then added a glaze before the vases will be fired in the pottery studio’s kilns.

Spark Centre staff will call each of the families to let them know their vase is ready for pick up, in about two weeks.
