An online performance of the musical, Beauty and the Beast Junior, by Weyburn Comprehensive School junior high students, will be available for viewing on several dates in April, with tickets on sale as of Tuesday, March 30.
The WCS Junior Musical cast, director Tanya Cameron, and AV and technical support people Wilf Lendrum and Dion Hrynewich, have been working on a virtual musical by taking individual audio tracks, individual green screen acting pieces and knitting them together to bring residents a COVID-19 friendly junior musical extravaganza.
The WCS crew announced that they have successfully completed their first-ever virtual musical experience and that tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 30, at SHOWTIX4U.
The show dates are as follows: April 3, 8-11, and 15-18.
Evening shows will be at 7:30 p.m. on April 3, 8-10, and 15-17.
There will be matinee shows on April 16 at 1 p.m., and on April 11 and 18 at 2 p.m.
The virtual show is in “real time”, meaning patrons cannot pause or rewind and can only watch it in real time. When the stream ends, so does your access.
The musical features scenes from all over Weyburn along with the extremely talented WCS Junior Musical cast as they bring this Disney classic to life in voice and through their incredible acting.
Leading the cast are Brittany Barber as Belle; Jayren Schultz as the Beast/Prince; Natalie Butz as Mrs. Potts; Peyton Lokken as Chip; Sawyer Leko as Gaston; Jonas Burdan as LeFou; Calla Hrynewich as Cogsworth; Marcus Isaak as Lumiere; Kailyn McFadden as Babette; Brody Walter as Belle’s father Maurice; Carlee Wade as Madame La Grande Bouche; Travis Benning as Monsieur D’Arque; and Selah Johnston as the enchantress.
Tickets are $20 per viewing, and are available at https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/47427
