Weyburn's own accomplished pianist at Concert Series

For the first time ever, Weyburn Concert Series will be featuring a local performer. The fourth concert of the year will feature MeaganMilatz, Weyburn's own talented pianist. "The first half of the concert is all solo pieces," said Milatz.

For the first time ever, Weyburn Concert Series will be featuring a local performer. The fourth concert of the year will feature MeaganMilatz, Weyburn's own talented pianist.

"The first half of the concert is all solo pieces," said Milatz. "In the second half, my piano teacher and I are going to be performing on two pianos."

Milatz will perform "Claire de Lune" by Debussy, as well as pieces by Beethoven and Chopin. In the second half, Milatz and Cherith Alexander will perform "Second Piano Concerto" by Rachmaninoff.Seventeen-year-old Milatz began her piano studies in Weyburn at age five with Alexander.She progressed very quickly, completing her Performer's ARCT (including theory requirements) by age 12.Milatz has won many awards and has represented Saskatchewan at the National Music Festivals in Moncton, Montreal and Saskatoon.Milatz is presently in Grade 12 at Weyburn Comprehensive School.Although much of her time is spent practicing her craft, she enjoys reading, shopping, singing and camping.The concert will take place at the Weyburn Comprehensive Cafetorium on Sunday, February 27 at 2 p.m.Tickets for the concert are available at Superior Office Products or at the door.
