Where once a hospital stood …

The demolition was carried out in 2009, and much of the materials from the massive former Mental Hospital have been recycled and reused in other ways. The land has been cultivated and seeded to grass, and as Weyburn city council recently decided, this area will remain this way for a while, until there is money or a strong consensus from citizens as to what should be done with the land. Ideas for use of the land range from parks green space to public use-buildings, to residential, with some concepts combining half and half.
