One of Estevan’s food trucks tested people’s eating abilities Saturday afternoon.

Beatz Eatz, which operates the Rolling Stove food truck, held the Bust your Gut eating competition at the Hidden Valley Golf and RV Resort. Nine people entered the contest, and some people gathered to watch as well.

Participants were tasked with trying to finish a six-pound family platter in 30 minutes that consisted of one-half pound each of brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken, one pound of dry ribs, one and a half pounds of French fries, eight ounces of beans, eight ounces of salad and one pound of cornbread.

Nobody was able to finish the large amount of food in the 30-minute time limit, but Mark Mason was declared the winner, as he came the closest, as he had one pound and 9.1 ounces of food remaining.
