Weyburn Chamber taking entries for 29th annual Parade of Lights

Each year, the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce presents an award for “Best Float for Business” and “Best Float for Organization”.

WEYBURN - Bundle up the family and head downtown for the 29th annual Parade of Lights, taking place on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.

“The Chamber always organizes the Parade of Lights on the first Thursday of December as our way of helping everyone kick off the holiday season,” said Executive Director, Monica Osborn.

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is now taking entry registrations. This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses and organizations to “shine” during the Parade of Lights.

There is no charge to enter, and entries can be as elaborate or as simple as the business wants, with lights being the most popular way to decorate. With the parade happening after dark, lights are also the best way to make your entry visible.

Each year, the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce presents an award for “Best Float for Business” and “Best Float for Organization”.

Also, we have confirmation that our special guest, Santa Claus will be the Grand Finale of the Parade.

The Parade route is available on www.weyburnchamber.com.

The parade entrants will line up on the fair grounds at 6:30 p.m., and at 7 they will head east on Prairie Avenue, turn south on Third Street and go through the downtown area, jog over to Second Street and go north to Bison Avenue, ending at Government Road.

For 2023, Third Street will be blocked off from Railway and Coteau Avenues in order to eliminate parked cars in the area. It will be a great atmosphere downtown.

“We encourage everyone to dress warm, shop local, and enjoy the evening,” said Osborn.
