The setting sun bathes a pond in golden hues on a warm summer evening as ducks gather to feed and raise their young ones in the weeks before leaving for southern climes for the winter. The pond is located south of Halbrite, just south of the Rafferty reservoir and Mainprize Regional Park, and was large enough to provide a wetland habitat for many ducks.
