A constant stream of visitors kept vendors busy at the Assiniboia Gun and Hobby Show at the Prince of Wales Centre in Assiniboia on February 11-12. The annual event was organized by Darren Treble and Norm House. It has been a fixture of the Assiniboia show circuit for the past 17 years. In addition to guns, the show this year featured hunting and related items, collectibles, leatherwork, crafts and historical items, House described the venue. Not only could visitors find a variety of guns for hunting and sports shooting on display for show and sale, but there were such items as leather gloves, jewelry, and even vacuum cleaners.
But most visitors to the show were there to see the guns. There were over a dozen vendors with displays of a wide variety of American and European made shotguns and rifles as well as the related ammunition, cleaning kits, gun care kits, accessories and parts. A big attraction was the large number of hunting items such as knives and rifle scopes.
