Body found in burnt barn

Carlyle RCMP are not releasing the name of the dead person that was located after a fire was extinguished, recently. On July 28 at approximately 8:19 p.m. the Carlyle RCMP responded to a complaint of a barn fire just outside of the town of Redvers.

On July 28 at approximately 8:19 p.m. the Carlyle RCMP responded to a complaint of a barn fire just outside of the town of Redvers.The barn was totally engulfed and almost destroyed when the local fire department attended and stopped the fire from spreading.

Fire crews and RCMP located human remains inside the structure once the fire was out. The cause of the fire is not yet known but is being investigated by RCMP fire scene examiners and the Office of the Fire Commissioner.

RCMP Major Crime South are also investigating the fatal fire. An autopsyhas been completed and determined that the remains are that of a female who died from the effects of fire. Positive identification has not yet been made and the investigation continues in conjunction withCarlyle RCMP, the Provincial Coroner's office, Yorkton Forensic Identification Section, and the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
