Organizers are currently planning the 22nd annual Country Music Jamboree at Nickle Lake Regional Park on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27. Organizer Les Hill said that there will be more bands this year than there was last year."The Saturday headliner is Mark Lorenz and Rory Allen," said Hill. "On Sunday, Julian Austin and Amanda Wilkinson from the Wilkinson Family are playing."There will also be local bands performing such as Switch, the Cowtones, the Yahoos and Air Ticket, as well as performers Tenille Arts, Sheri Roberts and Sandy Wright.Lexie Tytlandsvik of Oungre, Happy Wanderers & Friends of Arcola/Carlyle and Old Dogs and Garnet & the Classics of Estevan will also perform. Hill said that there will not be a burn-out competition this year due to a lack of volunteers."We still need a lot of volunteers," said Hill.Volunteers are needed for raffle ticket sales, security at the gate and beverage gardens.Hill said that even though this will be the last year that the Canadian Cancer Society will put on the Jamboree, he hopes that someone else will take it on."I don't think a change will affect it, I think it will be successful regardless" said Hill. "I would be very sorry to see it go after 22 years."Funds raised at the Jamboree will go to the Southeast Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society.
