‘Caring for the Coldwell’s fundraiser is a success

The “Caring for the Coldwells” fundraiser, collected by the Southland Co-op food store to help support Karla (Cristo) and Darren Coldwell and family, has raised $7,519.97 as of January 12.

The “Caring for the Coldwells” fundraiser, collected by the Southland Co-op food store to help support Karla (Cristo) and Darren Coldwell and family, has raised $7,519.97 as of January 12.
As part of the Co-op fundraiser, those donating could fill out a card with well wishes for the Coldwell family. These were passed along to the family.
The funds were raised to support the Coldwell family. Karla Coldwell has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. She is the daughter of Robin and Sandra Cristo of Assiniboia and Darren is the son of Bev and Les Coldwell of Assiniboia. The couple and their children now live in Steinbach, Man., where Karla owns a dance studio. The Steinbach community held a fundraiser on January 14 for the family. The event included a raffle with donated prizes and a social. A group from couple’s home community of Assiniboia attended taking along the messages of support and over $12,000 worth of donations.
Karla attended the Steinbach fundraiser with her family. She is in the process of receiving cancer treatments but remains positive in her outlook. Karla and Darren Coldwell expressed their appreciation for the support from Assiniboia.
