Estevan legion marks important anniversary in Canadian history

ESTEVAN — The Estevan branch of the Royal Canadian Legion commemorated the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day on May 8.

The legion hosted a barbecue lunch for the public, serving up hamburgers and hot dogs. 

People dropped by to visit and reflect on the service and sacrifices of Canada's veterans.

VE Day is observed on May 8 to mark the end of the Second World War in Europe.
