Weyburn is celebrating its 100th year as a city in 2013. The highlight of this year long celebration will be the August long weekend - Homecoming.

From August 1 to 5, there will be thousands of people visiting Weyburn from all over Canada and the world.

Weyburn Chamber of Commerce Manager Jeff Richards encourages businesses to capture the opportunity to acquire new customers from these visitors.

"Feel free to hold sidewalk sales, special events, or anything you can dream up," said Richards. "The Chamber is communicating regularly with the Centennial Committee and we will keep information and events flowing both ways."

According to Richards, the highlight of the weekend will be the Dean Brody concert on August 3.

"Brody is the Canadian Country Music Artist of the Year and he'll be performing in Saskatchewan only once this summer - in Weyburn," he said. "There will hundreds more in the city for this show. Codie Prevost will be the opening act."

Another opportunity for business is the Dean Brody concert. Individual tickets can be purchased on-line through Ticket Web (visit weyburn100.ca ).

"Chamber Members can order their tickets through the Centennial Office and they will invoice your business," said Richards. "Tickets for the concert are also a great opportunity to reward your staff and customers."
