Grade 12 students from Weyburn Comprehensive will be hosting their graduation ceremonies on Tuesday, June 28. Graduating students are to meet in the Cafetorium at the Comp at 9:30 a.m. The graduation ceremonies will then begin at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium. Each grad will have two reserved seats for their parents near the front. All other seating is open to the general public, and is available on a first come-first serve basis.

After the ceremonies there will be a punch reception at 2 p.m. This reception will be held in either the library or the courtyard, depending on the weather. At 2:45 there will be a group photo session. This photo session will be closed to the public until the group picture of the grads has been taken. Once it has been taken the public is welcome to attend.

The location for the graduation celebrations then switch over to the Curling Rink, as beginning at 5:30 there will be a pit barbecue supper for invited guests. Everyone attending must have a ticket, including grads. People interested in attending can order as many tickets as they want. Tickets can be picked up at the school and cost $15.

The festivities continue at 7 p.m. where a small ceremony and grand march will be held. This event is open to the public, but seating is reserved for parents of graduates. A dance will follow starting at 7:30.

The evening's festivities will conclude with a Chem-Free After Grad party, also at the Curling Rink. It will start at 9 p.m. and run until 2 a.m., and will have a Hollywood theme. The evening will consist of food and drink being served, games and prizes, and a hypnotist will be coming in to provide entertainment.

As a mediator has been appointed in the teachers' contract dispute, there should not be any job action affecting graduation, unless the STF reinstates it. If job action resumes by the day of graduation, teachers will only be able to be formally involved in activities from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m.
