The Family Place would like to remind residents that the deadline is fast approaching for nominations for the Bernard Kot Parent and Grandparent of the Year awards.
Organizers of the awards gala urge those who wish to submit nominations to write some family stories down with anecdotes about the nominated parent or grandparents. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Jan. 24.
The award evening for the Bernard Kot Parents and Grandparents of the Year will be held in conjunction with their Chocolate Decadence fundraiser on Feb. 12 at McKenna Hall.
This event sells out quickly, with tickets available at the Family Place. Both awards are sponsored by the Bernard Kot family, and recognize the hard work and dedication of local parents and grandparents.
This is the ninth year that this event honoured parents, and the sixth year it honoured grandparents. Any member of the community can nominate an outstanding parent or grandparent by contacting Jennifer Morin at the Family Place.
Last year's Parent of the Year was Mary Kradovill, with Don and Bernardine LaFoy winning as Grandparents of the Year.
