The Rossafa's travelled from Brazil to bring home their daughter and enjoy a 10-day visit to Saskatchewan.

Rotary Youth Exchange student Deille Rossafa will be leaving Weyburn for her home in Brazil this month after a year-long stay.

Rossafa attended the Weyburn Comprehensive School during her stay and tried many new things during her time in Saskatchewan.

"It's completely different here - the language and the winters," said Rossafa. "I got to travel a lot and went snowmobiling, skiing, curling and see hockey games."

Rossafa's mother and father travelled to Weyburn this June to bring back their daughter. During a recent meeting, the Rossafa's expressed their gratitude to Rotary members for making their daughter feel at home during her stay. It was their first visit to Canada and they were very surprised by how flat this region of the country is.

Rossafa stayed with Peter and Joanne Jensen during her stay.

The new Rotary exchange student will be Guillermo Rubio Vilardaga from Barcelona, Spain. He will arrive in Weyburn on August 22 and will go back home on July 15, 2012.

Anyone interested in the program or hosting an exchange student can contact Rotarian Alvena Dubnyk.
