Family trust fund supper set for May 11

A fundraising benefit supper to help set up a trust fund for a Weyburn family will be held on Saturday, May 11, in the Weyburn Legion Hall.

A fundraising benefit supper to help set up a trust fund for a Weyburn family will be held on Saturday, May 11, in the Weyburn Legion Hall.

The fund is for the family of Iryna Partyka, who was a cook at the Legion; she and her baby passed away on March 23 due to complications from her pregnancy.

She left her husband and two daughters, aged one year and 12 years old; she immigrated to Canada in 2008 and put her culinary training to use, cooking for the Legion kitchen.

The supper fundraiser will start with cocktails at 5:30 and a supper featuring roast beef and cabbage rolls at 6:30 p.m. There will be entertainment, an auction, raffles and 50-50 draw to follow the supper.

Tickets cost $25, or donations can be made at the Legion Hall, the Weyburn Co-op, Pumpjacks or New Age Home Furnishings and Electronics.

Also, for family and friends so wishing, donations to the trust fund in memory of Iryna can be made at the Weyburn Credit Union, or mailed to the Iryna Partyka Trust Fund in care of the Weyburn Credit Union, Box 1117, Weyburn, S4H 2L3.
