The guests in the audience were impressed with the quality and excellent condition of the clothing that was featured during the first-ever Salvation Army fashion show that displayed the clothing fashions from their own Thrift Store.

A sell-out crowd of 80 people enjoyed refreshments and dessert while the models paraded in front of them Saturday afternoon.

All the outfits came from the Thrift Store located right next door to the fashion show outlet that is also the church sanctuary, turned into a models? runway for this special occasion.

One of the co-ordinators of the event, Ronza Reynard, said the idea of the fashion show came to the employees and volunteers just recently as a means to promote the Thrift Store while raising funds for an overseas project that sees the local Army supporting two orphan children in Indonesia and one in Sri Lanka.
Special discounts were offered on the clothing that was displayed in the show that featured 12 models and 42 outfits that were brought forth in front of guest colour and fashion commentator Doris Weinrauch who explained the details of each piece of clothing as it appeared.

All the models were pure amateurs, but they all performed professionally and enjoyed the banter with Weinrauch and the guests as they strolled past the potential customers while raising the profile of the local Thrift Store, one of several community services provided by the Salvation Army.
