Fife Lake Hotel will host its annual live auction to raise funds for Telemiracle on February 28.
The auction runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Fife Lake. It will include about 200 items this year, said Gail Harkness, owner of the hotel with Lawson Harkness. “There are all kinds of things being auctioned,” she added.
In the past, there have even been live animals. The Bertha Richaud family has made a special donation for the auction this year. The late Bertha Richaud had collected Telemiracle Teddies from Telemiracle 20 up to Telemiracle 40. Her family is donating the set to be auctioned off at the Fife Lake Telemiracle auction. The Teddies are in mint condition, still in their original packaging. Harkness said that they are expecting a sizeable crowd.
Past auctions have attracted a couple hundred individuals who are both buying from the live event. The Telemiracle auction at the Fife Lake Hotel has been taking place for well over 20 years. It raises thousands of dollars each year with all of the funds going to the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, which supports mentally and physically challenged residents in Saskatchewan. Telemiracle 41 takes place on March 4-5 in Saskatoon.
