Get ready for Stoughton Daze

The weekend of July 4 - 6 is going to see lots of action in Stoughton as their annual Stoughton Daze will be underway. On July 4, a Texas Scramble golf tournament is being organized at the Stoughton Golf Course to start the weekend off.

On July 4, a Texas Scramble golf tournament is being organized at the Stoughton Golf Course to start the weekend off.

The next day is then filled with numerous activities including a visit to Stoughton between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. by Gainer the Gopher. Earlier in the day will see a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Firehall followed shortly after by a parade at 10 a.m.

The parade will begin at the school, then follow Main Street down, jogging over to then cross the highway to continue on to the Fair Grounds.

The Fair Grounds is where the rest of the action can be found with a slow pitch tournament taking place at 11:30 a.m. and running throughout the day. If interested in entering a team contact Rory Clark at (306)457-2422.

The trade show can be found in the Curling Rink between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., while a beer gardens will be open which will welcome The Milk Man's Sons to perform between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Available for children will be jumping castles, a variety of games, and face painting.

The Town will also unveil at this time the flag which was chosen for Stoughton out of the submissions they received earlier in the year.

Sunday, June 6, then sees two major events at the Fair Grounds with a gymkhana taking place at 9 a.m. Gymkhana's involve various horse riding events such as pole bending and barrel racing as well as other fun times events.

At 1 p.m. the town will get a little bit noisy as people cheer on vehicle participating in the Red Neck Races. For more information on these races or to enter them contact Corey Bacon at (306)861-6696.
