The halls of GF Kells are looking very festive as the holiday season approaches. The Mosaic Meal (Potluck) will again be held on the last day before the break, Dec. 20. Each student is asked to bring enough food for 5 - 6 people according to the grade's category (see below). The food is to be brought on Friday, Dec. 20, between 11:30 AM and 11:55 AM. Warming up the food at school is not possible, so please bring it ready to serve. The meal starts at noon. The categories are Grade 7, Chinese food; Grade 8, Mexican food; Grade 9, Italian food; Grade 10, Ukrainian food; Grade 11, appetizers; Grade 12, desserts. Food Bank donations have also started to come in. The class which brings in the most food items, eats first at the Mosaic Meal. (Mondays are Double Days!) As an added incentive, if the school brings in more than 5000 items, Mr. Johnson will dye his hair blonde.

Last week the SADD group was very busy. They sold "mocktails" at noon each day. A big thanks goes out to everyone who purchased these refreshments. On Wednesday, they welcomed speakers from Sun Country Health and SGI to our school. These speakers talked about the dangers of substance abuse and the consequences associated with them. "Have a safe holiday season and please do not drink and drive." - The Gordon F. Kells SADD Group.

Mr. Zacharias, Mr. Saltel, and the grade 12's are getting excited about attending the production of Sleeping Beauty at the Globe Theatre in Regina this week. The students will also spend the morning at the University of Regina and the afternoon at SIAST.

On the last Thursday of the month, students from the G.F. Kells High School will be out in community for 2 hours after school (3:15-5:15). They will be volunteering their time to make our community a better, cleaner place. If you would like some extra help, we are here for you. Whether it's picking garbage, raking leaves, shoveling snow, or anything else, our students are willing to help! Please contact Miss Wiebe via email: angelica.wiebe@cornerstonesd.ca with your ideas for Day of Help!
