Artists are being called to enter the 2011 James Weir Peoples' Choice Award. The art exhibition will mark the 28th annual James Weir exhibition for artists in Weyburn and the surrounding area. This exhibition gives amateur artists from the southeast region the opportunity to display their work in the Allie Griffin Art Gallery, located in the Weyburn Public Library.
The exhibition will run from Jan. 4 to 31, 2011, and the deadline for submissions is Tuesday, Dec. 21. During the exhibition, gallery visitors can vote for their favourite pieces.
A reception and awards presentation will be held on Jan. 31 in the Allie Griffin Art Gallery to celebrate the work of the local and regional artists, and to acknowledge the artists who receive the top number of votes.
Entry forms are available at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery on 45 Bison Avenue, and at the Signal Hill Arts Centre at 424-10th Avenue South in Weyburn, or downloaded from the website at www.weyburnartscouncil.ca.
