The Weyburn Fire Department raised $6,150 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada during the Muscular Dystrophy Boot Drive, which was held in mid September 2011. This total was the highest value raised among all Fire Services within Saskatchewan, with Saskatoon bringing in $4,129 and Regina raising $1,100.

"This is just another example of this city's pride, community spirit and commitment," said Fire Chief Steve Debienne. "I would like to personally thank all the fire fighters who were involved as well as a huge thank you to everyone who supported this great cause."

The Firefighters will be holding another Muscular Boot Drive in September 2012.
