Cindy Ann Boehm has officially opened up her doggy daycare business called Fido’s Place. The “daycare” provides dog owners a place to bring their beloved pets during the day to be taken care of. Fido’s Place will also be a dog training centre and the space will be rented out to local dog trainers to hold classes there in the evening. The facility will be open from 6:30 a.m.to 6:30 p.m., with training held after 7 p.m. and on the weekends as needed by the dog trainers.

They are also providing a pet taxi service. “The pet taxi is not just for dogs at the daycare,” Boehm explained. “If you’re working and you have a dog or cat that needs to go to the groomers or the vet, we can take them.” They also have service where they can go to a home and let a dog out for a walk, or to feed a cat, if a pet owner requires that.

Fido’s Place will be advertised in Weyburn’s pet friendly hotels for visitors who bring their pet. The only requirement is that they have a copy of their dog’s vaccines or a contact for their local vet.

Located on Queen Street, the inside of the building is 4,200 square feet with half an acre of outside running room. Along with herself, Boehm has two full-time and three part-time employees helping her out and all of them have been bonded and certified in pet first aid and behaviour.

Opening up this doggy daycare has been a long-time goal of hers and she thanks many people for their support and it grateful for the opportunity to bring Fido’s Place to Weyburn.

“First I would like to say a big thank you to all of the businesses and contractors that have helped make my dream a reality. I feel so blessed to be able to be doing my dream job. I feel even more blessed to be able to give the opportunity to others to do the same. I am very proud of the team we have here at Fido’s Place,” said Boehm.

“Weyburn is a great community and it is because of their support that Fido’s Place was made possible. At times when the light would flicker on my dream, the support of my family, friends and the community would shine the brightest. Your business is much appreciated, and we will do our very best to continue to meet your pet’s needs. Your continued patronage and suggestions are a vital part of our growth, and for that we are most grateful,” she added.

“I would also like to say thank you to Mayor Marcel Roy for coming and joining us in our celebration and ribbon cutting. The city has been a huge support in this project and it was very nice to share this day with them. I feel very fortunate and humbled to have the trust of pet owners. My team and I look forward to providing this service to you for many years to come. My heartfelt thanks.”

The facility can hold up to 25 dogs per day. Rates for a full day are $25 and for a half day (five hours or less) it is $17. Further information about Fido’s Place is available by email at fidosplace@outlook.com
