Our Grade 2s, along with some Gr. 6 helpers, had the opportunity to participate in Jump Rope for Heart on March 20th. They raised a Grand Total of $3,329.25 for The Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation. Great job to all who took part in raising money for such a great cause, and a big thank you to our community for your generous support!

On April 4th the Carlyle Lions Club will be hosting a Free Lunch for our students in the School Gym! We will be a part of the Lions World Lunch Relay which is a 24-hour, International event that brings families and friends of Lions together in their local communities to share a meal. The Lunch Relay will begin in New Zealand at noon. As clubs around the world host lunches in different international time zones, the Lunch Relay will move from time zone to time zone as Lions steadily pass the event around the world, forming the Lions World Lunch Relay!

Some of our Phys Ed classes have been enjoying walking to the rink for skating the past couple weeks. Thanks to all the parents that have helped with hauling skates as well as tying skates.

Grade 5 & 6 Badminton will continue through April with practices being held on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. Carlyle will also be hosting a Pre-District Rookie Tournament on April 29th.

We would like to Welcome Miss Gardner to CES. She will be teaching Mrs. Bloomfield's Grade 4/5 class when she goes on maternity leave.

If any parents have any mitts, gloves, skates or hockey helmets at home that you are not using, and would be willing to donate to the school, please drop them off at the office. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!

A reminder to parents that our playgrounds can be very wet and muddy this time of year. While students are asked to stay away from the puddles, accidents do happen. Extra socks in their backpacks are a good idea, as well they should wear appropriate footwear to school.

If you or someone you know in the Carlyle area has a child who is turning 5 in 2014, please pick up a registration form and have your child added to the Kindergarten class list for the 2014-2015 school year. Pre K applications can also be picked up from the office.
