Pangman (cpd) - Pangman will be celebrating their 100-year celebration with the tentative agenda from Friday, Aug. 12 until Sunday, Aug. 14. Cost for the weekend per adult is $75 which includes the registration packet, Saturday morning breakfast, Saturday evening supper, Saturday cabaret and Sunday morning brunch.
The weekend fee for children six-12 years of age will be $30 each. Early registration by May 1 will have a 20 per cent discount and children aged six-12 will only be $20. Everyone is encouraged to get an early registration, including the local folks, as this will help to determine the numbers that will be attending. The days will consist of holding registration beginning at noon on Aug. 12, music from the past, introduction to the homecoming princesses for the weekend, breakfast, farmer's market, parade, history exhibits, supper, silent and live auctions, cabaret, interdenominational service and to close the weekend on Aug. 14 there will be the Amulet Heritage Picnic with potluck supper starting at 5 p.m.
The Pangman Pool will be available all weekend and numerous children's activities are planned including wagon rides.
There are RV lots in the Pangman Park with electricity, water and sewer. There are also a number of spots up alongside the pool with no service but lots of room to park an RV. A number of rooms at the Ogema Motel have been secured for the weekend. Please call to reserve your room.
There will be 100 year celebration merchandise available for sale at the market mall.
Word was received that Ernest Martin Lillejord, age 83, late of Radville and formerly of Khedive, passed away on Jan. 14. A memorial service was held at the Weyburn RD Family Funeral Chapel on Jan. 18 with Marj McLeod CLA officiating. Interment was held at the Khedive Cemetery.
Keith and Yvonne Kessler from Regina spent the Jan. 15 weekend visiting family in Khedive. While here they visited with Kay Kessler at Sunnyview Place and Robin and Charlie Larson as well as Debbie Kessler on Jan. 17 before returning to Regina.
Roger and Alice Howse from Avonlea spent Jan. 17 visiting with Doris Sambrook at the Sunnyview Place.
Mary and Gordon Spooner are new residents at the Sunnyview Place.
Six residents from Sunnyview Place held their weekly bowling tournament on Jan. 19 with Ada Murray placing first for the ladies with 139 points and Wayne Morkie placing first for the men with 158 points.
Debbie Trylinski and some of the Auxiliary Ladies presented three shawls to three lady residents at Sunnyview Place on Jan. 17. The Ladies Auxiliary purchased the wool.
The Ladies Auxiliary are doing a raffle for a curio cabinet and a spring basket. There is a picture at Kathy's Place. One may come to the Home to view the cabinet. The tickets for the raffle are available at the cafe or at the Home.
Work has begun at the sites for the Community Kitchen and Day Care. The front of the old recreation centre has been recently torn down. A work trailer is set up and they are now putting in the piles for the Community Kitchen and Day Care. If you have any items you would like to donate to the day care, please contact Allison (Ken) Kessler.
Yoga classes will continue to be held at the Pangman School gym each Friday beginning at 7:15 p.m.
Pangman back roads have many high banks of snow and are becoming nearly impossible to travel on because of the many inches of snow and the winds.
