Police attend motor vehicle accidents

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the period of October 17 to 24: *On October 24, a 19-year-old male from Stoughton was charged with driving while over .08, driving while impaired and driving while suspended.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the period of October 17 to 24:

*On October 24, a 19-year-old male from Stoughton was charged with driving while over .08, driving while impaired and driving while suspended. The accused will be making a court appearance in November.

*Police attended to a single motor vehicle accident on the evening of October 24, in the 400 block of Third Avenue North in Weyburn. Investigation revealed a 21-year-old male was driving when he lost control of his car and struck a tree.The car was totalled in the accident and the driver was charged with driving without due care and attention.Alcohol was not a factor.

*On October 22, a 46-year-old male from Weyburn was charged with disobeying a stop sign which resulted in a motor vehicle accident. The male was driving on Eaglesham Avenue and failed to stop for the stop sign at the 18th Street intersection, striking a car that had proceeded through intersection after stopping. There were no injuries reported.

*On October 17, police attended to an accident near the intersection of Government Road and First Avenue NW. Investigation revealed that a 38-year-old female was following too close to the vehicle in front of her and when it stopped she struck it. The female was charged with following too close. There were no injuries in the accident.

*Police are still receiving calls regarding vehicles being rummaged through. Vehicle owners are reminded to not store valuables in their vehicles and to lock their vehicle doors.

*During this reporting period police received 140 calls for assistance.
