REGINA — McKayla Montana was thrilled when she scratched her $5 Crossword Multiplier Zing ticket late last month, revealing a $100,000 prize.

“Right after I purchased the ticket, I went to my mom’s house, scratched the barcode and realized I won!” Montana recalled.

She immediately confirmed her win three times on the Lotto Spot! app before she returned to the 7-Eleven, where she purchased her ticket, to scan it using the in-store self-checker.

The cashier watched Montana as she scanned her ticket.

“She screamed, ‘Oh my god, congratulations!” Montana recalled, adding that she was shaking and couldn’t believe this was happening.

Montana isn’t sure what she will do with all her winnings, but she does have one big plan for her windfall.

“I want to take my family on a trip,” She exclaimed. “Summertime is coming! And I’ve always loved the mountains.”
