The Board of Directors of The Family Place have announced the retirement of Manager Linda Rudachyk, effective June 30.

Rudachyk said that she, her husband Greg Bobbitt, and their 10-year-old daughter Cassie will be leaving Weyburn for a one-year adventure.

"We're leaning toward Cape Breton Island," said Rudachyk. "Our oldest daughter Susan lives in Halifax and we'd like to be near her."

Rudachyk began her career in Weyburn as a Social Worker with the Department of Social Services in 1977. After 34 years, she has decided to end her career, having accomplished her career goals. She said that the highlight of her career was the creation of The Family Place and its evolution.

"I was truly blessed to be happy to go to work every day, which I was at The Family Place," said Rudachyk.

Rudachyk said she hopes that the person who replaces her is passionate and energetic.

"It's not a big money making position, but it's the best job in the world," concluded Rudachyk.

The board of directors for The Family Place has begun the process of recruiting and replacing Rudachyk. For more information contact Chairman Clark Gordon.
