SaskTel has recently announced the formal launch of a new anti-bullying campaign, 'I am Stronger', which is aimed at using a website and social media platforms Facebook and Twitter to engage Saskatchewan youth on the issue of bullying.

"SaskTel is proud to support Saskatchewan students as they deal with the often very difficult issue of bullying," said Doug Burnett, Vice-President - Human Resources and Corporate Services. "As a socially responsible organization, SaskTel acknowledges that the products and services we sell may be used to conduct bullying activities, and so our involvement in this space is our way to counteract that impact."

The 'I am Stronger' campaign is composed of Twitter and Facebook pages as well as a website, IamStronger.ca, that users who are logged into an existing Facebook account can visit and then take a pledge. The I am Stronger Pledge will then be automatically displayed on their Facebook page, as well as on the I am Stronger website.

In addition to the pledge feature, students can go to the I am Stronger website and submit a story about their own bullying experience, positive or negative, with the hope that these stories will spawn conversations that will provide users with positive and encouraging support as well as access to resources and peers. The website also provides links to subject matter experts and 24/7 counseling and reporting resources.
