 At 12:20 a.m., Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the following areas:

  • R.M. of Francis including Vibank Sedley and Odessa
  • R.M. of Lajord including Lajord Kronau and Riceton
  • R.M. of Montmartre including Assiniboine Res.

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • R.M. of Churchbridge including Churchbridge and MacNutt
  • R.M. of Saltcoats including Saltcoats and Bredenbury

At 12:58 a.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

A severe thunderstorm is currently located near Churchbridge. This storm is nearly stationary at the moment over the area.

  • R.M. of Wellington including Cedoux Colfax and Tyvan

At 1:32 a.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain.

A cluster of severe thunderstorms are currently located in the Francis area, south of Odessa. These storms are moving towards the east at 30 km/h.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
